Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how iEmoji.com handles information when you use our website, emoji tools, public emoji message features, account features, feedback forms, and related services. For iEmoji Companion, please read the separate iOS App Privacy Policy or Android App Privacy Policy.

Some parts of iEmoji are public by nature. If you choose to publish or share a message, username, profile detail, comment, or other content through a public feature, other people may be able to see it.

Information We Collect

Account information. We store account details such as your name, username, email address, account ID, verification status, and password hash. If you register with phone verification where enabled, we also store your mobile number, verification records, and SMS consent time, source, and disclosure version. We process login credentials to authenticate you and maintain session records.

Content, feedback, and preferences. We receive messages, generated emoji images, searches, feedback, support emails, favorites, preferences, and billing-related information when you use those features. Feedback records can include your name or account ID depending on the form, your email address if provided, feedback text, IP address, user agent, and submission time.

Public features and usage events. We store public messages and their posting identities, generated images, emoji selections, likes, votes, thanks, and notification status. Emoji activity can appear in the website activity stream with a chat name, screenname, and avatar emoji. App-originated posts and emoji clicks are linked to the app account in the backend, as described in the iOS App Privacy Policy and Android App Privacy Policy. Search terms and requested URLs may appear in server logs.

Technical information. Like most websites, our servers and service providers may receive log data such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, pages viewed, approximate time of access, and cookie identifiers.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate iEmoji, provide requested features, show emoji content correctly, remember settings, respond to messages, process payments when applicable, fix bugs, protect the site from spam or abuse, and understand which parts of the site are useful.

We may use aggregated or non-identifying information to improve the site. We do not try to turn private usage into a profile for selling personal information.

Cookies and Analytics

iEmoji uses cookies or similar browser storage to keep the site working and remember preferences. Website pages may use Google Analytics to measure visits and understand usage. Google may receive information such as IP address, browser and device information, page URLs, referring pages, visit times, and cookie identifiers. Our website analytics configuration disables advertising features and advertising personalization. Google processes analytics information under its own privacy practices; see Google's Privacy Policy.

You can usually block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work as smoothly without them.

When We Share Information

We do not sell personal information, provide it to data brokers, or share it for third-party marketing or advertising. Providers process information needed to operate the service: Liquid Web hosts our server, Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) delivers account and service emails, Twilio delivers verification SMS where enabled, and Google Analytics processes website traffic information. Amazon S3 stores generated public message images and CloudFront delivers them; image requests include network and request information. Payment providers process billing information when you use a paid feature.

Other people can see content you publish through public features, including public messages, generated images, chat identities, and emoji activity. They may copy or share that content. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect the service and its users from abuse.

If iEmoji is ever reorganized, transferred, or merged with another service, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the commitments in place at the time.

SMS Verification and Consent

If you choose phone registration where enabled, we use your mobile number to send iEmoji account verification codes, one message per code request. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out. You may register with email instead.

We do not share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent are not sold or shared with third parties, except service providers that deliver verification messages on our behalf. We use those providers only to operate this service.

Retention and Security

We currently retain the information we collect indefinitely, including account details, messages, feedback, usage events, verification and session records, and backups, unless it is removed in response to a data request, applicable requirements, or service maintenance. Production website server logs are automatically deleted after one month. Apart from those logs and the account-deletion flow described below, we do not have a scheduled automatic deletion period. Code or session expiry does not delete the corresponding database record. Service providers may have their own retention practices.

We use authentication and other reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no service can guarantee perfect security. Signing out or clearing browser storage does not delete information already stored on our servers.

Your Choices

In iEmoji Companion, open Account → Delete account and confirm with the red Delete account button. This permanently removes your shared iEmoji account and associated account details, chat identity, posts, feedback, and account-linked usage and verification records, and signs you out. Uploaded post image cleanup may take up to 24 hours. We retain only an anonymous deletion reference, request/completion dates, and total post and search-selection counts. You can register again with the same email or phone number as a new account; previous data cannot be restored.

You can choose not to provide optional information, avoid posting public content, adjust cookie settings in your browser, and use available analytics privacy controls. To request access, correction, or removal of messages, feedback, or usage records, email eric@iemoji.com and identify the account or content involved. We may need to verify account ownership before acting. Some records may need to be retained for security or legal reasons, and we cannot remove copies of public content held by other people.

Children

iEmoji is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review it.

Third-Party Links

iEmoji may link to other websites or services. Their privacy practices are controlled by them, not by this policy, so please review their policies if you visit them.

Updates

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date on this page. The effective date above identifies the latest revision.
